I am fortunate enough to have known one of those young actors, and was introduced to this lovely cute little micro-movie. It was well edited and interestingly deployed!
I specifically like how this Hongpan Song guy portraited a homo-erotic character in a homo-societal environment like a university dorm. The interesting tension between insecurity and in-complacency is quite alluring and real among today's younger generation in China.
The multi-layered parallel plotting model is intriguing for an amateur film from that time. I was impressed. It is not better than any professional films, but it seems good and authentic enough to touch me.
Would expect more works like this from more universities in the future, so I can find more points of entry to understand the generational gap and up-to-date populist discourses.
